Candle Care 101: How To Burn Your Candle Properly

Posted by Ebonee Davis on

Three Things You Must Do To Care For Your Candles
1. Trim Your Wick
Trim wicks between burns to remove any carbon clusters, carbon residue, and to maintain wick at approximately 1/4 inch.
If you don’t have a wick trimer. Other options, use scissors or nail clipper.
2.  Let It Burn

Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the jar every burn to prevent tunneling- especially important on the 1st burn.
Do not burn more than 3 hours at a time.
3. Reuse & Recycle
To recycle or reuse glass jars, melt any remaining wax at low temperature in the oven. Pour any remaining wax into garbage container or outside (never rinse with water or pour in sink, wax will clog pipes). Any remaining wax residue can be removed with rubbing alcohol.
